The dry eye self-check: what it is
The dry eye self-check is eight questions about your symptoms and takes about ninety seconds. You get a symptom score, and whether your answers fit the pattern of a tear film that evaporates too quickly.
How the result arrives
By email. You give an address at the start and the result is sent to it. The page says the address is never sold.
What it isn’t
It is not a diagnosis, and it is no substitute for an eye exam. It is a structured way of describing your symptoms, which can be a useful thing to take to an eye doctor.
If it says to see a doctor
Some answers lead to a result that recommends seeing a doctor, and that email says so in its subject line. Take it seriously, and book the appointment before ordering any drops.
Where Quell comes in
Quell’s Uses section reads: For use as a protectant against further irritation or to relieve dryness of the eye. The self-check doesn’t change that, and the result isn’t a recommendation to buy anything.
