Eye drops and children: what the label says

Quell’s label doesn’t give separate directions for children. Its directions — Apply 1 drop 3 times per day in each eye — are written without an age range, and this site won’t supply one.

Ask first

If you are thinking of using Quell for a child, ask a pediatrician or eye doctor first, and bring the label. A child’s eyes, and the cause of the symptoms, are for them to judge.

What the label does say about children

Keep out of reach of children, and: If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately. In the U.S., Poison Control is at 1-800-222-1222.

Who can order

Buyers must be at least 18. An adult can order for the household, but whether to use it on a child is a doctor’s decision.

The allergy caution

Caution should be used in those with egg or bird allergies — For use in the eyes only. Check it for any child before anything else. Keeping drops out of children’s reach covers storage at home.
